Kodiak's Audition

The wolf hybrid watched the teams run out of the town, and into the tundra. He watched them from an alley, ebon' pelt mixing in with the shadows.He wished he had been a Sled Dog, he would have made a good dog.He looked up, seeng a human glaring at him."Wolf!Get yer' but out of my alley!"He shouted,kicking Kodiak hard. His yellow eyes narrwed as Kodiak bit the human,and the human ran for his life.He knew twolegs were like this,he hated them,and loved them at the same time,they killed his parents,but raised him,even though they let the other dogs tease him."Hey Look!A Wolf!"Laughed a lead dog as he walked past the alley were Kodiak sat.He smirked as he saw the wolf hybrid shiver with anger.

He sighed and then his ears perked at a woman's call."Who are you boy?"Asked the woman,dressed in a creame jacket and blue jeans.She caressed his fur,looking for a harness of collar but nothing."All she found was a peice of paper tied to a rope around his neck.She took it and read it."Kodiak eh?Well,your nickname will be Kodi'."She said."Come meet the team!"She said,leading Kodiak to a team of purebreed huskies and malamutes.They all laughed at him,but soon stopped as Mellissa,the woman cliped him in the lead dog spot."Lets see if you can handle this position,we'll test you in this race,you do good,you keep it."She grinned.She mounted the sled and shouted when the horn rang,"Hike!"

And the teams sprang forwards,racing into the cold desert.
